Advancing Opportunities in the South Korean Market to Ontario Exporters

Registration is now open for the FREE South Korea Market Opportunities Webinar occurring on March 10, 2021 from 7:30 – 9:15 PM EST. The Ministries of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA) and Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade (MEDJCT) in collaboration with, the Korea Importers Association (KOIMA) and the Canada Embassy in Korea will host the webinar. This dynamic and engaging event will educate Ontario agri-food and non-food consumer product manufacturers about existing export opportunities to the South Korean market.

Event Overview:

Presentations will be given by Trade Commissioners from the Canadian Embassy to Korea; trade professionals from KOIMA, and the Senior Commercial Officer from the Ontario Trade & Investment Office (TIO) in Korea.

The webinar will cover topics such as:

  1. South Korean market overview by the Trade Commissioner Service from the Canadian Embassy in Seoul: market trends, market opportunities/challenges, Canada-Korea Free Trade Agreement (CKFTA), Trade Commissioner Service, key activities and the Seoul Food tradeshow
  2. Korea Importers Association (KOIMA): overview of the organization, member services and potential support provided to Ontario exporters.
  3. Introductions of the Ontario Trade & Investment Office in South Korea and support available to Ontario exporters by the Government of Ontario.

The Korea Importers Association (KOIMA)

Established in 1970, the Korea Importers Association (KOIMA) is Korea’s leading trade organization exclusively dedicated to facilitating imports into the country. KOIMA’s 8,500 members are specialists in their respective business fields who aim to promote and encourage trade and commerce with other countries. Since its establishment, KOIMA has formed and maintained a global presence through free trade agreements with many of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries, including Canada, Mexico, and members of the European Union.
