On November 3-4, 2021, the 13th annual Municipal Agriculture Economic Development & Planning Forum is taking place! The forum is co-hosted by The Regional Municipality of York and OMAFRA.
The forum theme is “Innovation and Resiliency in the Agri-Food Sector”. Two half-day sessions will be filled with speakers and panel presentations on enabling innovation and a resilient agri-food system within Ontario and at the local level. Virtual tours of York Region’s agri-food assets, the Holland Marsh growers and York Farm Fresh members will allow participants to explore York Region.
Individuals with interests in rural planning, economic development or any aspect of the agriculture sector such as food, farming, agri-tech, workforce attraction or the agri-food value chain will find value in this 2-day forum. Expected attendees will be elected officials and council members, municipal economic developers, planners, CAO’s, general farm organization members, volunteers on municipal agri-food advisory boards and supporters of local economic development initiatives.
The reduced-fee early bird registration for the Agri-Food Forum 2021– Innovation and Resiliency in the Agri-Food Sector will open in September on YorkLink’s Agriculture and Agri-Food webpage. Full registration fees will apply after October 1.
