OMAFRA partnered with the Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies to deliver the strategic planning ‘Train-the-Trainer’ project in 2014. The goals of the Strategic Planning Pilot Project were to:

• Increase the organizational effectiveness & economic impact of organizations
• Build a supporting network of volunteers/leaders
• Provide opportunities for current and emerging leaders
• Build ownership and commitment of the strategic planning process within the organization

An evaluation for the 50 volunteers who participated shows a significant increase in their leadership skills, knowledge and confidence with developing a strategic plan.
