The Rural Economic Development (RED) Program – building a strong application

Rural Economic Development Program

The Rural Economic Development (RED) program provides cost-share funding to rural municipalities, Indigenous communities, and not-for-profit entities to support activities that create strong rural communities in Ontario and open doors to rural economic development. The program is now open and will accept applications until February 23, 2023, at 5:00 pm ET (Eastern Time).

Information sessions were held on January 24 and February 1, and they included tips on how to build a strong RED program application. The slide deck and recording  are available from the February session.

Applicants are required to read the program guidelines before completing an application. The program guidelines provide detailed information on eligible applicants, project types, and eligible costs, as well as the process for applying and the process that will be used to assess the application.
