At the Ministry of Rural Affairs (MRA), our Economic Development and Business Advisors work collaboratively with rural communities, municipalities, organizations and Indigenous communities to support economic development initiatives. We are excited to highlight Chloe Langlois, Economic Development and Business Advisor for Northwestern Ontario.
A career rooted in on the ground experience
Chloe began her career in the OPS with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Agribusiness as a regulatory meat inspector. As she worked closely with operators across Northern Ontario she saw firsthand the opportunities and challenges shaping agriculture and primary industries.
This experience led her into her current role in rural economic development, where she continues to apply her practical, operational knowledge to community‑based projects.
Supporting communities across Northwestern Ontario
Currently, Choe is leads these MRA initiatives:
- Strategic Planning Training Program – helping organizations build actionable, community‑driven strategies.
- Northwestern Ontario’s first Teeny Tiny Summit – an event designed for small and remote communities to collaborate, learn and celebrate local improvement.
- Rural Ontario Development program – coaching applicants to refine project scopes and clearly demonstrate economic impact to improve funding success.
Chloe also focuses on advancing economic development within Indigenous communities, supporting relationship‑building, strategic planning and locally led initiatives.
