The Private Label Manufacturers Association (PLMA) 2021 Virtual Trade Show is now Live! This virtual event is taking place February 1-5, 2021 and features online exhibits and private virtual meetings, where retail buyers can search for products and network live with store brands suppliers. This year, eight Canadian businesses will be exhibiting within OMAFRA’s Ontario Pavilion.

1. Dare Foods Ltd.

Headquartered in Cambridge, Ontario, Dare Foods has remained a Canadian and family-owned business since it started baking cookies in 1892. Their product categories include cookies, crackers, candy, and toasted bread products sold throughout North America and exported to more than 50 countries around the world. The company specializes in contract manufacturing and welcomes opportunities to work with customers on their customized and private label bakery and candy needs.

2. Global Botanical / Pure-le Natural

Global Botanical is Canada’s leading premium quality supplement manufacturer. Based in Barrie, Ontario, the company is owned and has been operated by the Thuna family for over 150 years. In 1982, Global Botanical launched Pure-le Natural, an extensive product line consisting of certified organic products, essential oils and extracts, detox products, digestive products, and other dietary supplements. Global Botanical works with trusted manufacturing partners for the development of tablets and gummies. This year, Global Botanical will be introducing a variety of gummies and the next Generation of whey protein to North America.

3. Greenhouse Juice Company

The Greenhouse Juice Company is a health and wellness-focused beverage manufacturing company. Headquartered in Toronto, the company is engaged in making delicious, life-enhancing products that support local, organic farming community; to reduce food and packaging waste; and to broaden perspectives around the environmental benefits of eating and drinking a more plant-based diet. The company was launched in January 2014 with a single location on Toronto’s Macpherson Avenue. Today, the company has eight company-owned shops, grocery partners across Canada, and an online delivery and subscription service.

4. KFI Inc.

KFI is a family owned and operated manufacturer of high-quality Indian sauces, dips, marinades, and savory drinks. Headquartered in Brampton, KFI has become the trusted brand for shelf-stable Indian food in the Canadian branded and private label retail market. With an over 25,000 sq ft production facility, the company has uncompromising quality control measures maintaining gold standards in audits. The KFI family has extended to 50+ employees crossing $15M in sales, showing 20% growth year-over-year while working with 20+ distributors across Canada, US and the Caribbean.

5. Select Food Products Ltd.

Select Food Products has over 75 years’ experience manufacturing condiments and sauces. Headquartered in Toronto, Ontario, the company is well known as a private label manufacturer for foodservice, co-pack and industrial customers in Canada, the U.S. and globally. Their wide range of products include mayonnaise and whipped dressings, salad dressings & dips, BBQ sauces, mustards, salsas and gravies, which are sold throughout Canada and the U.S. Select Food has invested in high speed lines for manufacturing cooked and cold-mix products, and offers a variety of packaging options for industrial customers.

6. Taste of Nature Foods Inc.

Taste of Nature Foods Inc. was established in 1989 with a vision for developing healthy, natural, and organic snack bars for outdoor adventurers. Headquartered in Markham, Ontario, the company manufactures certified organic snack bars that are non-GMO, gluten-free, and made only with real ingredients. The company is also committed to environmentally responsible growth and development, and source their products from sustainable farmers, and use 100% green energy to power their production centers. Today, Taste of Nature snacks can be found in store and online at Costco Wholesale, Walmart, Loblaws, Longos, and Amazon.  

7. Tealish Fine Teas

With a focus on innovation and wellness, Tealish Fine Teas was established in 2005 and has been committed to providing the highest quality, ethically sourced teas. Tealish excels at creating customized, trend forward tea programs for grocery, cafe and retail experiences, which include premium ingredients specializing in functional and healthy superfoods, adaptogens and healing herbs. Today, Tealish works with many high-volume retailers such as Indigo Books, Avon, Target, Urban Outfitters, Hudson’s Bay, Whole Foods, Costco, Staples and Macy’s.

8. Vaughn Mills Packaging Ltd.

Vaughn Mills Packaging is a custom manufacturer of private label and control brand hot cereals and oatmeal for the retail, foodservice and industrial trade. Headquartered in Concord, Ontario, their core competencies include bulk filled oats, instant oatmeal and flavored instant oatmeal. The company offers a variety of packaging formats such as individual sachets, microwavable cups, pouches, cartons and family/club packs. The company values being flexible to deliver both large and small quantities and have sold their products to top retailers in North America.

OMAFRA’s Private Label Virtual Showcase:

As part of OMAFRA’s work around PLMA, OMAFRA has engaged retail buyers from the globe including the US, Netherlands, Middle East, and the Philippines to meet virtually with the Ontario suppliers exhibiting in the Ontario Pavilion and some other qualified Ontario manufacturers. These meetings provide unique opportunities for Ontario suppliers to access buying partners and grow their markets internationally. This focus on private label allows Ontario to promote one of our manufacturing strengths.
