By the Numbers: Profiling Your Agri-Food Sector Using Impactful Statistics

Upcoming Webinar – Thursday September 8, 2022. 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Many communities recognize agriculture’s contribution to the region’s economy, but it’s important that community leaders have an accurate understanding of what the sector is actually producing.

Building a snapshot of the local agriculture sector will support the community in prioritizing agriculture in economic development planning, building sector relationships, harnessing support and establishing a baseline of information against which you can benchmark the impact of future actions.

Data isn’t gathered for the sake of having data. It needs to be put to work! Use data to promote local agriculture, share it with leadership, and the community. Data can inform policy and reinforce with decision makers and community members, the true importance of this sector.

The Ontario Federation of Agriculture and Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs’ have a number of resources to help you tell the story of agriculture in your community, including new Census of Agriculture information and new agriculture and food data sets.
