The Foodland Ontario program, created by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, has been encouraging consumers to buy locally grown, harvested and processed foods for over 45 years, all while supporting Ontario growers, processors and food businesses.
In order to increase your reach to Ontario consumers who want to buy local, we encourage you to add the Foodland Ontario Logo to your product packaging, menus and marketing materials. Having the Foodland Ontario logo on local food goods is the best way to help consumers identify Ontario foods when shopping at their grocery stores, farmers’ markets, and on-farm markets.
With over 80 per cent recognition among Ontario grocery shoppers, the Foodland Ontario logo reinforces the importance of choosing local first. There are more than 1,700 businesses that use the logo with pride to help give customers the comfort of knowing their product is Ontario grown and made.
Ontario farmers, processors and businesses can become a Foodland Ontario partner at no cost. If your local food products align with the Ontario food definitions outlined on foodlandontario.ca, you can complete the online form and apply to become a partner!
As a partner, you will have access to a wide variety of complimentary point-of-sale materials (e.g., price cards, base wrap, recipe pads, etc.), information resources and participate in marketing and promotional efforts to spotlight the brand.
