Join us for the 17th Annual Municipal Agriculture Economic Development & Planning Forum (MAEDPF), themed “Cultivating Common Ground.” Co-hosted by the Ministry of Rural Affairs and the County of Simcoe, this two-day forum will be held at the Georgian Bay Hotel & Conference Centre in Collingwood.

“The County of Simcoe is excited to have been chosen to host the Municipal Agriculture Economic Development and Planning Forum in Simcoe County this October.   The Forum is an exciting opportunity to highlight the region’s leading agricultural sector, which is home to over 1,800 farms, spanning more than 480,000 acres, and a thriving agricultural business sector. Two Days of Learning and Networking

Day 1: Agri-Business Tours

Home to 1,846 farms and 483,350 acres of farmland, Simcoe County’s agri-food sector employs over 23,000 people across 4,415 businesses. From farm to fork, it’s a thriving hub of innovation and opportunity.

The tour will explore local farms and agri-business operations that showcase best practices in land use, diversification, and innovation.

Day 2: Conference Sessions 

Engage with expert speakers and peers on topics like agritourism, value-added agriculture, and planning tools that support agricultural growth. The sessions are designed for municipal staff, elected officials and community leaders looking to strengthen agriculture in their regions.
